Middlesex Tamil Sports & Social Club (MTSSC) was formed in June 1989 by four friends with Paramakumaran (Chairman), Nirmalan (Treasurer, migrated to Canada), Selvakumar (Club Secretary) & Sritharan (Club President). Pauline Sritharan (The 1st Lady) was also present at the first meeting held at Para’s house in Wembley.
In the formative years, the team played under the name of RANK CC. Rank CC was formed in 1980 and the team were mainly from those who worked part-time at Finsbury Park Top Rank Bingo Hall, while being full-time students. Differences of opinion in the direction for the club ensured that a new entity had to be set up to provide a sports and leisure facilities for those living in Middlesex. As stated above, MTSSC was formed and started playing in and around Middlesex. In the first season, MTSSC played ten cricket matches and Ealing Park grounds was our home.
The club is affiliated to ECB, MCB, MCA & CCC. The club has grown to such an extent that it boasts of around 80 actively playing members and five teams playing league cricket on Saturdays. On Sundays, the club sends out 2 teams to playing in local leagues. The club started it’s Colts operation around five years ago and have been fielding an U11, U13, U15 & U17 teams. The club enlists Level 2 Coaches to support the Colts’ training programme during winter, spring and summer months.
Aim of the club is to have a permanent home ground and continue to play sport in a fair and friendly manner.
